Duplin Winery, the largest and oldest winery in the state of North Carolina, has long held a commitment to education in the community. Its founder, David Fussell, Sr., served as an educator for many years and continues to support education in his service as an elected official in Duplin County. “My father instilled in each of us the importance of a quality education and the power it can provide for one’s future. It is an honor to become a part of an organization that has a long-standing contribution to education across North Carolina that helps to bring brighter opportunities to children in each of our communities. We look forward to playing a positive role in North Carolina education,” Jonathan Fussell, President Retail Sales, Duplin Winery.
The North Carolina Business Committee for Education is comprised of a working membership that includes corporations from across the state with a primary goal of bringing education in North Carolina into the 21st century. Membership involvement plays a crucial role in preparing North Carolina’s student population for the jobs of tomorrow.
“The North Carolina Business Committee for Education is pleased to have Duplin Winery join our membership. As with all of our members, Duplin Winery will play a key role in providing direction for education in the state of North Carolina and ensuring that the state is able to provide quality education that will deliver a positive future workforce for North Carolina based companies. We are excited about Duplin Winery's involvement as a representative of the Eastern part of our state, as a positive North Carolina business, and demonstrating a continued commitment to education in North Carolina,” Lisa Berwyn, Director of Membership Service at NCBCE.
NCBCE membership is by invitation and Duplin Winery is extremely proud to take its place with the organization.
