Best ever Blondies, with a little wine

We love it try recipes Duplin fans have made with our wines. When Raleigh baker Mindy Davisson said she had an idea for Pum'kin Wine Blondies, we couldn't wait to make the easy dessert for Thanksgiving. And we realized Carolina Red or Hatteras Red work just as well when Pum'kin is out of season.

The ultra-moist blondies are full of brown sugar goodness, wonderful warm spices and a hint of Duplin Pum'kin red wine. Mindy also adds a little Pum'kin to the silky cream cheese frosting she spreads on the blondies. We decided to try some other Duplin red wines in her recipe and decided Carolina Red or Hatteras Red offered a different twist, especially when we added a cup of chocolate chips to the original recipe.

A grab-and-go treat like Wine Blondies is a must on holiday dessert tables, but we also adore these bars throughtout the fall for tailgate parties, Halloween get-togethers or simple weekday desserts. We definitly plan to pack these tasty blondies in our grown-up lunch boxes, too.

We met Mindy and her mom, Heather, and sister, Erin, while they were picking and stomping grapes at our annual Harvest Fest celebration in September in Rose Hill. Mindy featured these blondies at the Edible Art Bakery & Cafe she runs in Raleigh with Erin.

We hope Mindy's story inspires you to share your Duplin recipes with us. We'd love to hear from you!
