Quick and easy Pork Chops with Pum'kin Wine Sauce

Quick and easy weeknight meals don't have to be take-out or another rotisserie chicken. One pan is all you need to make these delectable pork chops and the pumpkin wine sauce that goes with them. They’re especially delicious with no-fuss baked sweet potatoes and a simple green salad.

Bone-in pork chops provide the best flavor for this dish. Choose chops no less than a half-inch thick.

We sear ours in olive oil in a heavy skillet. Once the pork chops are done, we transfer them to a plate and then added onions to the oil left in the pan. We cook the onions until they are caramelly brown. When the onions are done, in goes a splash of Duplin Pum'kin to create a wine sauce for the chops. We always make sure to scrap up all the tasty brown bits on the pan's bottom as we stir the wine into the onions. All that’s left to do from there is spoon the sauce over the chops and serve.

Pum'kin red wine's subtle notes of cinnamon, clove and nutmeg marry deliciously with pork chops and sweet onions, but you could use your favorite Duplin wine for this dish, and it would be just as good.
