Mango Margarita

This marg is full of citrus and tropical notes, plus a little bit of chile spice. It begs to be made in batches to tuck into beach coolers.

  • For the margarita mix:
  • 1 foil package dry Margarita Sweetzer Mix, with 1 tablespoon of mix set aside
  • 3 cups water
  • To rim the glass:
  • The 1 tablespoon dry Margarita Sweetzer mix you reserved
  • 1 tablespoon mild or spicy chili powder
  • 1 wedge of lime
  • To finish the cocktail:
  • ½ cup Cotton Candy Lime wine
  • ¼ cup mango juice
  • 1 ounce white tequila

In a small bowl, set aside 1 tablespoon of the dry Margarita Sweetzer Mix.

Make the margarita mix: In large canning jar, blend together the remaining dry Margarita Sweetzer Mix and 3 cups of water. Stir or shake until margarita mix is dissolved.

To rim the glass: Add chili powder to the 1 tablespoon of dry Margarita Sweetzer mix you reserved in the small bowl. Blend until well combined. Spread the mixture on a small, saucer-size dish.

Use the lime wedge to rub the rim of a margarita or rocks glass. Dip the moistened rim of the glass into the Sweetzer/chili powder mixture on the saucer, coating the rim of the glass well.

Make the cocktail: Pour ½ cup of the margarita mix into a cocktail shaker.

Add ½ cup Cotton Candy Lime to the shaker along with the ¼ cup mango juice and 1 ounce of white tequila.

Add ice to the shaker.

Cover the shaker and shake the cocktail well for 15 seconds.

Fill the rimmed glass with ice.

Strain the mango margarita into the glass. Garnish with fresh lime slices and/or mango wedges.

Makes 1 serving.
