Watermelon Frosé
Our Watermelon Frosé is the drink you'll be thinking about long after the boys of summer are gone. We blended frozen watermelon cubes instead of ice with Duplin Scuppernong Blush to make this easy, four-ingredient drink.
Ingredients:
- 1/2 of a large, seedless watermelon
- Juice of 1 lime
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 2 cups Duplin Scuppernong Blush wine
- Garnish: Thinly sliced watermelon, with rind, cut into triangles
Directions:
- Remove rind from watermelon. Cut flesh into squares about the size of ice cubes. You should have about 4-5 cups of watermelon cubes.
- Lay the watermelon cubes in a single layer on a baking sheet. Freeze cubes until solid, about 3 hours or overnight.
- Place watermelon cubes in a blender container. Add lime juice, honey and wine. Put the lid on the blender and whirl mixture at high speed until it is thick and slushy. Add more frozen watermelon if mixture is too think. Add more wine if it is too thick.
- Pour into wine glasses. Garnish each glass with a triangle of watermelon.
- Makes 6 to 8 servings.
