Christmas in July Sangria

White wine sangria in a snowy coconut-rimmed glass is a festive drink for Christmas in July, although you'll probably be drinking this version all year long.

Ingredients:

  • 2 unpeeled Gala apples, cored and coarsely chopped
  • ½ cup coarsely chopped plums or plumcots
  • ½ cup halved, seedless green grapes
  • 3 1-inch-long fresh rosemary sprigs
  • 1 bottle Duplin White Sangria
  • 1 25.4-ounce bottle sparkling apple cider
  • ½ cup shredded sweetened coconut
  • 2-3 tablespoons light corn syrup
  • 1 can or bottle fruit-flavored sparkling water
  • Fresh rosemary sprigs

Directions:

  1. Place apples, plums or plumcots, grapes and rosemary in a large pitcher.
  2. Pour wine and cider over fruit in pitcher.
  3. Refrigerate wine and fruit mixture for 3 to 4 hours.
  4. When sangria is ready to serve, prepare glasses.
  5. Spread coconut on a small saucer. Pour light corn syrup on another small saucer. Dip the rim of one glass in the corn syrup to completely coat rim in syrup. Dip the syrup-coated rim into the shredded coconut so that the rim of the glass looks as if it has snow on it.
  6. Carefully drop 2 tablespoons of the sangria-soaked fruit into each coconut-rimmed glass, being careful to not let the spoon or fruit touch the rim of the glass. Carefully pour sangria into glasses, being careful not to touch the rim of the glass. Garnish each glass with a sprig of rosemary.

Makes 8 servings.
