Duplin Winery, the largest winery in the South, announced their 40th Annual Grape Stomp taking place on September 10th, 2016.
The event takes place at the vineyards in Rose Hill, NC and runs from 1pm – 9pm. Guests can expect live music from Chocolate Chip & Company Band and The Holiday Band, dancing, wine tastings and a grape stomping contest. Festival attendees will have a chance to stomp grapes with their bare feet and prizes will be awarded to the best grape stompers.
Special vineyard tours will take place, as well as production facility tours, allowing guests to see the winemaking process. Wine tastings are available from 1pm – 8pm and require a reservation as space fills up quickly. Visitors can enjoy a meal at the Bistro Restaurant, which will be open on a first come, first serve basis. Food tents will be available on site as well for dinner purchases.
Jonathan Fussell, co-owner of Duplin Winery, says, “We feel like kids who are counting down until Christmas Day. The Grape Stomp is extra special to us this year, and we invite everyone to celebrate with us. My favorite part of the day is watching people stomp grapes for the first time. I love that look on their face when they feel the grapes moving through their toes.”
