Duplin Turkey and Waffles
Need Thanksgiving leftovers recipes? Imagine, crispy waffles -- homemade or the frozen kind from the toaster -- smothered in turkey and plenty of gravy, but not just any gravy. Give Duplin Magnolia Thanksgiving Gravy a try. It gets a little hint of sweetness from Duplin Magnolia white wine.
Ingredients:
- For the waffles:
- 2 eggs
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1¾ cup milk
- ½ cup melted butter
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 4 teaspoons baking powder
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- For the topping:
- Leftover turkey meat, bones removed, cut into bit-size pieces and reheated
- 2½ cups Duplin Thanksgiving Gravy, reheated
- Leftover cranberry sauce
Directions:
- Heat a waffle iron.
- While waffle iron is heating, prepare waffle batter. In a large bowl, beat the eggs and then beat in the remaining ingredients.
- Make the waffles in the waffle iron.
- Lay 2 waffles on each of four plates. Evenly divide turkey over top of waffles. Spoon plenty of gravy over the waffles.
- Serves 4.
