Duplin Turkey and Waffles

Need Thanksgiving leftovers recipes? Imagine, crispy waffles -- homemade or the frozen kind from the toaster -- smothered in turkey and plenty of gravy, but not just any gravy. Give Duplin Magnolia Thanksgiving Gravy a try. It gets a little hint of sweetness from Duplin Magnolia white wine.

Ingredients:

  • For the waffles:
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1¾ cup milk
  • ½ cup melted butter
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 4 teaspoons baking powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • For the topping:
  • Leftover turkey meat, bones removed, cut into bit-size pieces and reheated
  • 2½ cups Duplin Thanksgiving Gravy, reheated
  • Leftover cranberry sauce

Directions:

  1. Heat a waffle iron.
  2. While waffle iron is heating, prepare waffle batter. In a large bowl, beat the eggs and then beat in the remaining ingredients.
  3. Make the waffles in the waffle iron.
  4. Lay 2 waffles on each of four plates. Evenly divide turkey over top of waffles. Spoon plenty of gravy over the waffles.
  5. Serves 4.
