Limoncello Spritz

Duplin Sweet Lily has a summer romance with Italian limoncello and a few scoops of gelato in a drink sure to steal your heart. The secret to whipping up the best Limoncello Spritz is making sure everything you need is cold before preparing the drink. Chill a bottle of limoncello in the freezer overnight. Be sure to chill Duplin Sweet Lily white wine in the refrigerator for at least 24 hours. Limoncello Spritzes look beautiful in large, stemless wine glasses. Scoop ice cream into the glasses and then pop them in the freezer for at least 15 minutes before you begin making the cocktail. Enjoy the Limoncello Spritz in spring too. Serve it at showers, Mother's Day brunch or as an al fresco dessert after dinner in the garden.

Ingredients:

  • 4 scoops vanilla gelato or ice cream
  • 4 ounces limoncello, well chilled
  • Duplin Sweet Lily white wine, well chilled
  • Fresh strawberries or lavender sprigs

Directions:

  1. Set out two, large wine glasses.
  2. Add 2 scoops of vanilla gelato or ice cream to each glass.
  3. Place glasses in the freezer for 15 minutes.
  4. Remove glasses with ice cream from the freezer. Pour 2 ounces of ice-cold limoncello into each glass. Add chilled Duplin Sweet Lily to glasses until they are full.
  5. Garish each glass with fresh strawberries or lavender sprigs.
  6. Makes 2 servings.
