5 easy Christmas morning breakfast ideas

Our video series "Dine & Wine" showcases different recipes and cocktail mixes using Duplin Winery wines and gourmet products. Join our host, Frank, as he gets the dish on our Duplin family's favorite eats and drinks. If you have ideas for the show or if you're looking for a recipe, let us know in the comments. Cheers!

Two things are certain about Christmas morning: Everyone is going to want to open presents first and then they'll want Christmas breakfast. On top of Christmas dinner, breakfast is a lot of work for the cook, so we put together these easy holiday breakfast ideas.

Burgundy pork tenderloin

Cooking bacon is a chore, even if you do it in the oven. Save the hassle and marinate a pork tenderloin on Christmas Eve. Pop it in the oven Christmas morning. Better yet, cook it on Christmas Eve, refrigerate and slice and serve on Christmas morning. Our Burgundy Pork tenderloin recipe seasoned with cinnamon, ginger and a little honey and brown sugar is delicious cold, reheated or at room temperature.

Think outside the box bagels

Slice bagels, lay them on a baking sheet and pop them under the broiler until toasty. Then serve them with a stick-to-your-ribs, hot-from-the-oven dip. Try our extra cheesy Muscadine Buffalo Chicken Dip recipe. You can assemble the dip the day before Christmas. If you want a less spicy dip, simply reduce the amount of hot sauce. You could also replace the chicken with cooked sausage.

Easy cream cheese danish

"Duplin Dine & Wine" show host Frank calls his tasty cream cheese danish packets "Christmas Presents." He fills canned crescent roll dough with a little cream cheese and a little Duplin Gourmet Christmas Wine Jelly, sprinkles the packets with cinnamon sugar and bakes them. The whole family can help with this recipe, even kids.

Christmas pound cake

Something sweet with Christmas morning coffee is a must. Our Christmas Wine Cake recipe is a scrumptious blend of vanilla, cranberries, walnuts and holiday spices. Shhh...we start with cake mix for this easy treat. The glaze is no-fuss, too. Just whisk Christmas Wine into confectioners' sugar.

Spinach artichoke toast

We make our Spinach Artichoke Dip recipe in a slow cooker. Just blend the ingredients the night before and then put them in the slow cooker before anyone wakes up on Christmas morning. We love the dip slathered on thick slices of toasted Italian bread. Sometimes, we'll spread it on toast, top that toast with parmesan cheese and run it under the broiler until the cheese has browned.
